"Reinforced Concrete" – From the Street to Your Home

IABO 's new series of works plays on the double meaning of its title: "Cemento Armato" ( Reinforced Concrete), which, by crossing out the "R," becomes "Cemento Amato" (Beloved Cement). A play on words that transforms the idea of ​​concrete's solidity and resistance into an emotional connection with the material and the artist's artistic journey.

The choice to paint on concrete panels is not accidental but profoundly symbolic. Those familiar with IABO know that his artistic journey began in the 1990s as a graffiti writer and urban novelist, before establishing himself, since 2003, as one of Neapolitan street artists .

In the years since, his work has moved from the street to the canvas, entering the world of contemporary art. With over 100 exhibitions worldwide —in museums, galleries, and public and private spaces—IABO has consolidated a unique and recognizable language.

With "Cemento Armato," the artist returns to his roots, paying homage to his past as a graffiti artist, when he painted on the city's concrete walls. This project rediscovers the most authentic, raw, and lived-in urban aesthetic, restoring the metropolitan flavor that characterizes street art.

The protagonists of these works are his famous "profiles," a series of characters reinvented with his distinctive style. The works are created with stencils and spray cans , and although the subjects are recurring, each piece is unique , thanks to the different textures and irregularities of the concrete. Furthermore, IABO uses "lost form" stencils, which cannot be reused, making each creation unique.

The works are already framed with a suspension system , which creates a floating effect and enhances the concrete's texture. Each piece measures 65 x 65 cm (including the frame), is signed on the back, and comes with a certificate of authenticity stamped and signed by the artist.
